Heads up, Southwest flyers! If you're eyeing that Companion Pass (where a friend flies free with you!) or just want a ton of points for future flights, now's the time to jump on a Southwest Rapid Rewards credit card. All of their personal cards are offering a whopping 85,000 bonus points for new cardholders after meeting the spending requirement.
This is a big deal because these bonus offers don't stick around forever. The current offer is set to expire on December 16, 2025, at 7 am EST. So, if you've been thinking about getting one, now's the moment to pull the trigger and boost your Rapid Rewards balance. Those points can translate into serious savings on future Southwest trips!
Why is this important? These points get you closer to free flights, upgrades, and that coveted Companion Pass. If you fly Southwest even semi-regularly, this bonus is basically free money towards your next vacation. Don't miss out!
Why This Matters for Your Strategy
News in the points-and-miles world moves fast, and promotional changes often have a short window. If this announcement affects a card or program you hold, log into your awardtrail dashboard to check your current benefit usage, bonus progress, and whether a transfer or redemption makes sense right now — before terms change.
As a general rule: transfer points only when you have a specific redemption in mind — transfers are almost always one-way and non-reversible. If you're unsure of the value, check our redemption guides before acting.
