About awardtrail
A free mission-control dashboard for credit card enthusiasts — built to replace the spreadsheet chaos and help you never miss a reward again.
Our Story
In the complex world of credit card rewards, points, and miles, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. Sign-up bonuses have confusing minimum spending requirements and tight deadlines. Card benefits are buried in fine print. Tracking multiple cards across multiple people feels like a full-time job. Spreadsheets help — until they break, fall out of date, or just become too complicated to maintain.
Awardtrail was born from a simple personal frustration. Our founder, a long-time credit card enthusiast, spent years wrestling with increasingly complex Excel sheets to track sign-up bonuses, benefit credits, and Chase 5/24 eligibility across multiple family members. The math was tedious, the deadlines stressful, and the process error-prone.
About ten months before launching publicly, he started building a personal tool — just for himself. It quickly became clear that thousands of other enthusiasts faced exactly the same problems. Awardtrail was released to the public as a completely free platform, and has been growing ever since.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: make credit card rewards management as easy and accessible as possible for everyone, from beginners taking their first steps into the points-and-miles hobby to seasoned veterans managing a dozen cards across an entire household.
We believe that everyone should be able to maximize the value of their credit cards without needing a finance degree or a custom spreadsheet. Our tools automate the math, surface the deadlines, and keep your entire rewards ecosystem visible at a glance — so you can focus on the travel, not the tracking.
What awardtrail Does
Sign-Up Bonus Tracker
Track real-time spending progress toward minimum spending requirements (MSRs) with deadline alerts and progress bars. Export your full history to Excel at any time.
Benefit & Credit Tracker
Log which monthly and annual card credits you have used — airline fees, dining, travel, streaming — so you never leave value unused on high-annual-fee cards.
Chase 5/24 Calculator
See exactly how many of your 24-month application slots are used and precisely when each card drops off. Plan your next Chase application with confidence.
Marriott Eligibility Matrix
Marriott card eligibility rules are notoriously complex. Our smart matrix instantly tells you which Marriott cards you can apply for and whether you qualify for the bonus.
Family Card Management
Manage cards and bonuses for you and your partner (P2) from a single account. Coordinate household strategy and make sure no deadline or credit slips through the cracks.
Redemption Guides
In-depth guides for every major airline and hotel loyalty program — Chase Ultimate Rewards, Amex Membership Rewards, World of Hyatt, ANA, and more — to help you find the best value.
Editorial Standards & Transparency
Our editorial content is fully independent. We are not paid by card issuers to write positive reviews. Every guide, recommendation, and strategy is based on our team's real-world experience and mathematical analysis of reward value — not on what pays the highest affiliate commission.
We do not guess at points valuations. Our redemption guides are based on actual award pricing, current transfer ratios, and real cash prices for flights and hotel stays. We update our guides regularly as program rules change.
Awardtrail is free to use and is supported by display advertising, including Google AdSense, and may include affiliate links in some content. We always disclose affiliate relationships clearly and never allow commercial relationships to influence our editorial content or tool recommendations.
All guides and educational content are reviewed by our team of credit card enthusiasts with combined experience spanning hundreds of card applications, award bookings, and loyalty program interactions. We write from direct, personal experience.
Why Trust Us?
There are many credit card blogs and tools online. Most are built by marketing teams optimizing for affiliate revenue. Awardtrail was built by an enthusiast who needed the tool himself — and continues to be developed based on real user feedback from the credit card community.
Our approach is different in three ways. First, we focus on tools, not just content — we want you to be able to do things, not just read about them. Second, we do not hide content behind a paywall or subscription; everything is free. Third, we are honest about complexity — credit card rewards genuinely require strategy, and we do not pretend it is simpler than it is.
We also publish our editorial disclosures prominently, maintain a public privacy policy, and make it easy for users to contact us with corrections or feedback.
