Bilt Card Shakeup Incoming? Here's What the Rumor Mill Says
Published on December 29, 2025, 9:11 PM
Word on the street (via Reddit, so take it with a grain of salt!) is that Bilt is planning some big changes when they launch their new card lineup in early 2026. Remember, they're adding a no-annual-fee card, a $95 annual fee card, and a premium $495 annual fee card to the mix. The rumors suggest the new annual fee cards will come with some seriously tempting signup bonuses – something Bilt hasn't really offered before. However, the no-annual-fee card might get a major downgrade unless you already have Bilt elite status. The whispers also hint at changes to how you earn points, especially on rent and mortgage payments. The no-fee card might only earn 0.5x points per dollar on these payments, and there might be a new minimum spending requirement on non-rent/mortgage purchases to even qualify for points on rent. On a brighter note, if you pay your property taxes and insurance through your mortgage, you *might* start earning points on those portions of your payment, too. So, why should you care? If you're a Bilt cardholder, especially the free version, these changes could significantly impact how you earn rewards. Keep an eye out for official announcements in January and February 2026, and be prepared to adjust your strategy. If the rumors are true, it might be worth considering one of the new annual fee cards for those signup bonuses, or finding another card to use for everyday spend if you only have the no-fee card.
