Heads up, award travelers! There's a recurring promotion that can save you money on gift card purchases, specifically on Visa, Mastercard, and Amex gift cards from VanillaGift.com, MastercardGiftCard.com and AmexGiftCard.com. By using specific promo codes, you can often waive the purchase fees, which can add up, especially if you're buying in bulk. Keep an eye out for codes like VGDAD25, VGGRAD100, VGMOM25, VGWOMEN, VGHURRY24, VGCYBER24, VGTHANKS24, VGSHOP24, VGBTS24, VGPS2024, VGMOM24 and LASTMINUTE23 (this one valid until 12/25/23).

Why should you care? Well, fee-free gift cards can be a great way to indirectly earn rewards on purchases that don't normally accept credit cards. It's essentially a way to manufacture spend (MS), which some people use to meet minimum spending requirements for credit card bonuses or to rack up points and miles. However, there's a catch! Amex often codes these purchases as cash advances, which means no rewards and potential fees. A workaround to avoid this is to checkout via PayPal and use a Chase Freedom card.
