Bilt Rewards Does a U-Turn (Again!): Here's What it Means for Your Rent Points

Bilt Rewards is tweaking their program *again* after a rocky "Bilt 2.0" launch. It seems like they're trying to find the sweet spot between giving rewards and staying sustainable. CEO Ankur Jain hopped on Reddit to announce a new payment option. Option 1 lets you earn points based on how much of your rent/mortgage you spend on the card each month - earn more points the more you spend. Option 2, which was already announced, lets you earn 4% back in "Bilt Cash" on everyday purchases, then use that cash towards rent or other Bilt ecosystem redemptions.
So, why should you care? If you're a Bilt cardholder, this impacts how you maximize your points on rent. The new system might be better for some, especially if you already put a good chunk of your spending on the card. However, the "Bilt Cash" option adds complexity, and it's not super clear how to redeem it best, which is annoying. The biggest takeaway is that Bilt is still figuring things out, and you might need to keep an eye on the program to make sure you're getting the most out of it.
