The biggest change is that the Sapphire Reserve is losing its fixed 1.5 cents per point redemption rate for travel booked through the Chase portal. Instead, they're introducing "Points Boost," which can give you up to 2 cents per point on select travel, but it's not guaranteed.

What does this mean for you? If you have a Sapphire Reserve, Preferred, or Ink Preferred card, transfer your points to the Sapphire Reserve card before October 26, 2025, to lock in the old 1.5x redemption rate for two years! Even better, Chase is honoring a 2 cent value for all "The Edit" properties booked through 12/22/25. After October 26th, Chase will use a "first-in-first-out" system, so your oldest points will be redeemed first, potentially impacting your ability to use the boosted redemption rates later on. It sounds complicated, but the key takeaway is to move your points ASAP to retain that higher redemption value for as long as possible!
