Flying Blue Card Gets a Visa Makeover (and a Dining Boost!)
Published on January 17, 2026, 9:29 PM
Bank of America is giving the Air France KLM Flying Blue card a fresh coat of paint! Existing cardholders, get ready – your Mastercard is switching to a Visa at the end of March. While the core benefits are staying put, there are a couple of key changes you should know about that went live yesterday. First up, you'll now earn 3x Flying Blue miles on dining, which is great news for foodies looking to rack up those miles faster! More importantly, if you're chasing elite status with Flying Blue (those sweet perks like lounge access and priority boarding), you can now earn "XP" (Experience Points, which determine your status level) by hitting spending thresholds on the card. Spend $15,000 in a year, and you'll snag 80 XP. Bump that up to $25,000, and you'll get an additional 60 XP. While these changes might not be earth-shattering, the dining bonus is a nice little perk, and the XP earning could be a game-changer for those aiming for Flying Blue elite status. It's especially helpful if you don't fly Air France or KLM frequently but still want to enjoy some of the elite benefits. So, keep an eye out for your new Visa card in March, and happy dining!
