Aeroplan Points at Amazon & Whole Foods? Here's the Deal!
Published on September 30, 2025, 10:05 PM
Chase Aeroplan cardholders, listen up! From October 1st, 2024, through December 31st, 2025, you can now use your Aeroplan points for "Pay Yourself Back" (PYB) statement credits at Amazon and Whole Foods. The catch? You'll only get 0.8 cents per point. Now, why does this matter? Well, Aeroplan points are generally more valuable when redeemed for travel, where you can often get much better value (think 1.25 cents per point or even higher!). However, if you're sitting on a pile of points and don't have any immediate travel plans, or you just want a quick and easy way to use them up, this could be a decent option. Keep in mind that Chase already offers PYB for dining, groceries, gas, and other categories at the same 0.8 cents per point rate. Ultimately, this move just provides more flexibility. While most savvy award travelers will still aim to use Aeroplan points for flights and other travel-related redemptions, having Amazon and Whole Foods as options gives you a backup plan if your travel plans are on hold. Just remember to compare the value you're getting versus other redemption options before you pull the trigger!
