X1 Card Gets Nerfed: Say Goodbye to Boosts and Hello to Fees!

Ouch! If you're an X1 cardholder, brace yourself. It looks like X1 is drastically devaluing the card, possibly in an attempt to move users over to the Robinhood Gold Card. Starting November 21, 2025, the rewards rate is being slashed to a flat 1.5 points per dollar spent, and those sweet boosts that let you earn even more are being eliminated altogether.
But that's not all. X1 is also introducing a whole host of new fees, including late fees (up to $40), cash advance fees (5% or $10, whichever is higher), returned payment fees (up to $40), and even replacement card fees (also up to $40). Previously, the card offered a more attractive 2x-4x rewards structure.
What does this mean for you? If you're an X1 cardholder, it's time to reevaluate whether the card still fits your spending habits. With the reduced rewards and new fees, it might be worth exploring other options, like the Robinhood Gold Card they're pushing, or other cards with better rewards programs and fewer fees.
