T-Mobile's New Credit Card: Is It Worth Switching?

T-Mobile just launched its own Visa card in partnership with Capital One, and it might be worth a look if you're a T-Mobile customer. The card is only available to existing T-Mobile consumer postpaid customers through the T Life app. The main perk? You'll earn 5% back in T-Mobile Rewards on T-Mobile purchases and 2% back on your T-Mobile phone bill and all other purchases.
The rewards are only redeemable toward your T-Mobile bill or for devices and accessories purchased through T-Mobile. But here's the kicker: you get the usual $5/line autopay discount (up to 8 lines) even when paying with this credit card, which is unusual because cell companies generally require you to pay with a bank account or debit card. Plus, there's no annual fee and no foreign transaction fees.
So, is it groundbreaking? Not really. But if you're already paying your T-Mobile bill with a debit card or bank account to get the autopay discount, switching to this card will let you earn 2% back on those payments while still getting the discount. It's a solid, no-fee option for loyal T-Mobile users who want to squeeze a little extra value from their monthly bill.
