Heads up, Tulum fans! The Mexican government just opened a brand-new airport right in Tulum. Before, getting to those gorgeous beaches and cenotes meant flying into Cancun and then enduring a potentially long and bumpy ride south. This is big news for a couple of reasons. First, that Cancun transfer could easily add hours (and stress!) to your trip. With the new airport, you can fly directly into Tulum, saving you valuable vacation time. Second, increased competition between airlines flying directly into Tulum could potentially lead to lower airfares. Keep an eye out for those introductory deals!
