Klarna's Exploding, Aeroplan Tanks, and Banking Bonuses Abound!

It's a mixed bag of news this week, folks! First up, Klarna, that "buy now, pay later" service, is making waves with its card racking up a million users in the US in just 11 weeks. If you're into splitting up payments, this might be something to keep an eye on. However, there's some not-so-great news for points and miles enthusiasts. Air Canada Aeroplan just quietly doubled the cost of domestic United awards. Ouch! That means those sweet spots you might have been eyeing within the US just got a lot less sweet. On a related note, if you were planning on sharing Hawaiian Airlines miles through Atmos after September 26th and you don't have Summit status, prepare to pay a hefty $10 per 1,000 miles. Basically, transfer those miles now if you need to! Finally, on a brighter note, there are some decent bank bonuses popping up. Keep an eye out for deals from FirstBank, Bluestone Bank, and Alliant Credit Union offering up to $400 for opening new checking accounts. Plus, Capital One has a transfer bonus to Virgin Red (Virgin Atlantic/Virgin Australia). As always, read the fine print before jumping in, but these could be easy ways to pad your travel funds. Amazon is also ending the Prime Sharing benefit, so you might have to get your own account after October 1, 2025.
