Heads up, Shop Your Way (SYW) Mastercard holders! Citi is converting your card into a standard Citi ThankYou Mastercard by December 31, 2025, just like they did with the old Sears card. The good news? You don't have to do anything. Your card number, APR, and account history will all stay the same. You can still manage your account the same way you always have.

However, there's a key change to the rewards program. Starting November 3, 2025, you'll no longer earn Shop Your Way Additional Category Earn Program Global Points when using your SYW Mastercard. So, that bonus earning you might have been getting in specific categories? Gone. The points you've already earned are still valid for a while, but keep an eye on those expiration dates!

The big question now is what kind of rewards the new Citi ThankYou Mastercard will offer.
