Heads up, award travelers! You can now use your American Airlines AAdvantage miles to book flights on JetSMART, a budget airline that's making waves in South America. This is great news if you're looking to explore destinations like Chile, Argentina, or Peru without breaking the bank. JetSMART often has incredibly low fares, and being able to use AAdvantage miles gives you another way to snag a deal.

But before you get too excited and start booking, remember JetSMART is a budget airline. That means extra fees for things like checked bags, seat selection, and even snacks. So, you'll want to compare the cost of booking with miles versus paying cash, factoring in those extra fees. Sometimes, the taxes and fees on award tickets can make using miles less appealing.

Bottom line: This new partnership opens up exciting possibilities for using your AAdvantage miles to explore South America. Just do your homework and compare all the costs before you book to make sure you're getting the best value for your miles! Happy travels!
